Packaging Waste
Lafarge Cement is looking at using packaging waste as a fuel.

This fuel comes from all sorts of manufacturing processes and includes thin off-cuts of foils, papers and plastics from the manufacture of products such as nappies and crisp packets.

These materials are those which are unsuitable for recycling. By using them as a fuel, Lafarge Cement would be helping to reduce the amount of packaging which goes to landfill sites.

Packaging waste is used as a fuel in cement-making in countries such as France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland.
