| * Carbon neutral - biomass energy sources
are described as 'carbon neutral' because the carbon dioxide released
during the use of the biomass as a fuel is cancelled out by the

Following Assessment Audits at Aberthaw, Westbury
and Chilton, the British Standards Institute (BSI) has announced
that our quality management systems at those sites will be recommended
for registration to ISO 9001, the internationally recognized standard.
This is the first major milestone on the road to achieving company
wide ISO 9001 registration. Lafarge Cement UK now moves on to gain
registration at its remaining five manufacturing sites during 2006,
followed by the depots and other UK sites during 2007. |
